Orange started selling Apple’s iPhone device from yesterday - November 10 in the U.K. and sold 30,000 units on the first day. Until now O2 was the only wireless carrier with the rights to sell iPhone in the U.K. Now Orange is selling it, and from the beginning of the next year Vodafone will be selling the device too. However, the expectations of a price war in the U.K. market have not materialized, as Orange is selling it at the same price as O2. Orange is also putting a 750 MB data limit on the 3G Internet usage which has made some users unhappy.
A virus attack has been reported on jail broken iPhones which is spreading fast. The attack which started in Australia has a self propagating virus that changes the iPhone's wallpaper to a picture of 80s singer Rick Astley with the message "ikee is never going to give you up". Apple only allows users to install applications approved by it and sold through its iTunes store. However, users can bypass this restriction using a hack called “jail breaking,” which allows them to install applications not approved by Apple, and developed by third party developers.
Orange is going to start selling iPhone from November 10 in the U.K., according to reports. The Guardian reported on Sunday that Orange will start selling Apple iPhone 3GS a day after O2’s two year exclusive contract with Apple to sell iPhone devices comes to an end. Orange will sell the iPhone devices through its own stores and through Phones4U. Carphone Warehouse is also expected to sell the iPhone devices from Orange.
